Kenya is a strong ally and strategic partner of Rwanda. In the framework of the East African Community (EAC), Rwanda and Kenya cooperate closely in many of the areas of integration including Customs Union and Common Market.

Rwanda and Kenya have also worked together closely to strengthen commercial and investment ties between the two countries. The High Commission capitalizes on the positive steps taken so far to market Rwandan products and explore opportunities for stronger trade and investment links.

The Rwanda High Commission in Nairobi is also mandated to strengthen Multilateral Cooperation with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT).

With regards to UNEP, the High Commission plays the role of liaison with the Ministry of Environment to ensure implementation of projects and programs in areas of climate change, biodiversity conservation, and pollution control.

Cooperation with UN-HABITAT involves coordinating with the Ministry of Infrastructure on various settlement, water and sanitation projects, and training and capacity building.

At the High Commission we also always look forward to joining hands with our Rwandan Community in Kenya in order to make our engagement with Kenya more fruitful.
