President Kagame meets President Ruto on the sidelines of FOCAC Beijing Summit
On September 4th, President Paul Kagame and President William Ruto held a meeting on the sidelines of the 2024 Summit of the Forum of the China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Beijing, China.
They discussed ways to further strengthen the already existing productive relations between Rwanda and Kenya.
“Rwanda is a strong ally and strategic partner of Kenya. We share diplomatic, historical and cultural ties. Our two nations are also committed members of the East African Community, especially on regional integration, trade and people to people relations,” reads President Ruto’s tweet on the meeting.
He added that they also discussed the candidature of the Rt Hon. Raila Odinga, who was also in the meeting, for the position of the African Union Commission chairperson.
